Transmission and Prevention
COVID-19 is primarily spread from person to person through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person talks, coughs, or sneezes. It can also be spread by touching surfaces or objects that have the virus on them and then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the CDC recommends:- Wearing a mask in public places, especially in areas with high transmission rates
- Practicing social distancing, staying at least 6 feet away from others
- Washing your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
- Using hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available
- Avoiding close contact with people who are sick
- Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces

What to Do If You're Exposed or Infected
If you've been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or are experiencing symptoms, it's essential to take immediate action:- Stay home and isolate yourself from others
- Monitor your symptoms and seek medical attention if they worsen
- Follow the CDC's guidelines for self-isolation and quarantine
- Get tested for COVID-19 if recommended by a healthcare professional
